Anno 1800 Tips and Tricks
When you start a new game on Anno 1800 it's important to plan before you go crazy with building. This is why you want to use the blueprint mode. I personally build a column of houses. XX XX XX XX XX XX Then I build a column of city services. Then I build another column of houses. This is a great layout for smaller worker towns where you don't need to upgrade the houses beyond the first three levels. For me, I like building a bunch of islands. I use one island to do nothing but grow grain, another to do nothing but manufacture liquor, and so on. When it comes to money, the easiest way I found was to build a bunch of houses. The more houses you have, the more they pay in taxes. Also, keep an eye on their happiness. The happier they are, the more citizens will move into a single structure and that means they'll pay more in taxes.
