A mage explore trick
When you are exploring you have the option to use
Axeman and Archer's at the lowest level. Then eventually you will get a mounted troop called the Lancer. They are powerful but very expensive. Soon I think once you hit about level 30 or so, you get the all mighty Mage.
What I learned is, when I am farming for things like blue armor and cross medals, especially cross medals, I don't use my lancers at all. The mage is far more powerful and I get way better results with almost no loss of life.
Just remember to keep your base camp as upgraded as your senate so you can send in more troops. The more mages you can send the better! They are sexy strong and will blast away the enemies before they even reach you!
I should point out. This all assumes you are farming for chests in an area lower level than you. For example at level 40 I'm farming a chest that is right next to a guy who is level 18. I wouldn't use this tactic on anything above level 30 (at my current level).
